Materiality framed primarily through operational constructs can therefore understate exposure at precisely the point where financial sensitivity matters most.
Grounding materiality in financial thresholds aligns AI oversight with the economic realities financial institutions already manage. When exposure is assessed in terms that can be aggregated, modeled, and stress tested, governance becomes connected to capital resilience.
