After more than a year of development, the plan lays out 68 initiatives to be undertaken in the DMP’s first three years, backed by a $30 million funding commitment.

“The DMP is about radically boosting the experiences of everyone who connects with our university,” chief digital officer Craig Mutton said.

“This includes students, staff, and community – enhancing the way we work, research, study and connect.

“This is a significant and sustained investment in our university, that will help us continue to serve the Canberra region and beyond, empowering connected experiences.”

Mutton emphasised the university’s co-design process as fundamental to the DMP.

“This is a plan for our entire university, not just for the digital portfolio – nor is it a solely technology-focused plan.

“The initiatives that we deliver under the plan will be led by staff, working with students, across all business units and faculties.

“We will support our people to succeed by providing exceptional experiences and streamlined and automated processes, enabled by intuitive technology and quality data,” Mutton said.

Nine of the projects were commenced during development of the DMP, including a new curriculum management solution, adoption of a managed detection and response platform, an enterprise risk management solution, a data audit and remediation program, and the migration of content management and research services to cloud platforms.

Initiatives currently in planning include a data architecture modernisation, a digital experience platform, student communications automation, and a consolidated multi-cloud strategy.
