This innovative solution has identified more than 4.5 million previously undetected vulnerabilities, thereby enabling development teams to efficiently prioritise and manage critical risks.

The groundbreaking system has exposed 1.85 million vulnerabilities classified as “high risk”, with 336,000 vulnerabilities given a CVSS score of 97 or higher, a classification viewed as “critical” by the US National Vulnerability Database (NVD).

This crucial data enhancement is the result of a unique algorithm developed by Sonatype. This novel system is capable of detecting vulnerabilities in “shaded” open source files, where the original code is repackaged, often preventing detection by traditional methods.
