Reportedly, Google chips were utilized by Apple to train a pair of AI models

Apple has introduced the initial iteration of Apple Intelligence, a set of innovative AI capabilities for the tech giant’s diverse operating systems. These functionalities are geared towards enhancing the performance of the voice assistant Siri and enabling the production of text and images. (Introduced on Monday, these new AI functionalities are accessible in the developer betas for IOS 18.1 and iPad OS 18.1.)

The public release of Apple Intelligence is anticipated later this year but is unlikely to coincide with the launch of Apple’s new iPhone, slated for September and will run on iOS 18 initially.

Simultaneously, according to Reuters, a new research report from Apple states that the company will utilize Google’s hardware, instead of Nvidia’s, to train two pivotal AI models. This choice is remarkable as Nvidia is presently the leading producer of highly desirable AI processors.
