The CTO role is currently being held by Matt Hodder in an acting capacity, after predecessor Brett Stenson left for Brisbane City Council in August 2023 after a five-year stint.

iTnews approached TMR for comment.

The CTO role has four direct reports and a staff of more than 180 full-time equivalents.

Those teams are split across infrastructure and cloud, service operations, and applications teams, and the executive director will be managing the $80 million budget of the Information Technology Branch’s technology section.

The recruitment advertisement states the CTO needs to “assure the effective delivery of business systems solutions to support TMR’s strategic outcomes and the effective provision of ICT services to departmental staff located throughout Queensland.”

The successful candidate will be offered a five-year contract with possible extension.

In November 2022, TMR launched its data and analytics strategy, which centres on the “Integration of diverse data sets, across multiple systems and tools, to support insights and a holistic view of our business, customers, and network.”

In 2021, TMR adopted a microservices architecture based on the Thoughtworks platform.
