A security update has been rolled out by Moxa, a company from Taiwan, in order to rectify a severe security issue affecting its PT switches which might allow a hacker to circumvent authentication assurances. The vulnerability, known as CVE-2024-12297, has been rated with a CVSS v4 score of 9.2 out of a potential 10.0. “Due to weaknesses in their design, multiple Moxa PT switches are susceptible to an authentication bypass.”
