Macquarie Group is investigating potential generative AI use cases and pilots as it goes on the hunt for a new director of product AI.
The financial services group put out the call for a director of product AI to join its digital team to assist with “accelerating the digital enterprise” across the organisation “related to data and artificial intelligence.”
The new role will shape and implement “a portfolio of internally-facing generative AI products.”
The position also entails developing “the investment case, product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our corporate operations group and enterprise AI portfolio, including both SaaS and custom-built AI apps.”
A Macquarie spokesperson told iTnews the role has been designed to examine the group’s future generative AI use.
“This role will sit within Macquarie Group’s central digital division, which is exploring potential applications of generative AI, including pilots which are currently underway to explore targeted use cases,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added the role will also ensure “we have the right risk framework in place to protect our people, our business and our clients.”
The group’s banking division has previously stated that it views AI and machine learning as a significant support “to deliver further personalisation at the individual level”.
Back in June, the Macquarie’s Banking and Financial Services group announced new AI and machine learning capabilities in collaboration with Google Cloud.
The partnership included predictive analysis models to offer targeted in-app functionality, and updated its banking systems with automated processes.
