HP’s latest online assistance offering is capable of reviving dysfunctional Personal Computers
An inoperable Personal Computer is the stuff of nightmares for telecommuters. It typically implies they require in-person support which is hard to come by in their makeshift office environment or local café.

There is now optimism that even this dire situation can be resolved remotely. HP disclosed at its Imagine event in Palo Alto, California on Tuesday an innovative feature referred to as the first-ever out-of-band diagnostics and remediation capability in the industry. This will empower remote technicians to establish connections, diagnose, and resolve issues even if the PC is unable to boot.
This service, scheduled for release on Nov. 1, enables a technician, after receiving consent from the user, to remotely access a virtual KVM (comprising keyboard, video, and mouse) located under the BIOS/UEFI to conduct diagnostics and implement corrective measures. With this service, a technician could have rectified the problem arising from CrowdStrike by replacing the faulty configuration file following the erroneous update, for instance, and could even reinstall the operating system if needed.
