Malicious individuals have been seen taking advantage of several vulnerabilities in different software solutions, such as Progress Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX and Advantive VeraCore. This exploitation allows them to implant reverse shells and web shells, ensuring continuous remote control over breached systems.
The zero-day exploitation of VeraCore’s security vulnerabilities has been linked to a cybercrime group identified as XE Group.
