“Selected regions are currently being utilized for controlling access to specific areas or user preferences based on age,” stated a spokesperson from Discord. “The data necessary for the age validation process is solely employed for authentication purposes and is not retained by Discord or our service provider. The facial scan functionality, provided by our service provider, functions on the user’s device, thereby precluding any biometric data collection during the facial scan process. In the case of ID validation, the scanned data from your identification document is purged upon successful verification.”
