Latest ‘Helldown’ Ransomware Version Widens Assaults to VMware and Linux Platforms
Security analysts have revealed a Linux edition of a relatively fresh ransomware type named Helldown, indicating that the malicious actors are increasing the scope of their attacks.
“Helldown launches Windows ransomware based on the LockBit 3.0 script,” Sekoia stated in a report disclosed to The Hacker News. “Considering the recent emergence of ransomware aiming at ESX, it seems that the group is expanding their target range.”
