“Our dedication lies in providing a safe and reliable experience through Recall,” declared Brandon LeBlanc, a senior Windows product executive, in a communication to The Verge. “To ensure the delivery of these crucial updates, we are extending the timeline to fine-tune the user experience before presenting it to Windows Insiders.
“Initially slated for October, Recall is now set to be showcased to Windows Insiders using Copilot Plus PCs by December.”
Termed as an “explorable chronicle of your PC’s history,” Recall has been met with objections from security and confidentiality specialists, with some equating the functionality to keylogging tools. Once activated, Recall will document all user activities by capturing “snapshots” of the screen every five seconds. Users can then explore a timeline depicting their interactions on the device, encompassing applications, websites, documents, images, and more.
