DuckDuckGo has unveiled an AI-driven gateway to a selection of widely used chatbots and affirmed that it will not reveal or exploit the information entered by users in order to enhance large language models — the core of the generative AI (genA) technology.
“Conversations are confidential, anonymized by us,” mentioned DuckDuckGo lead designer Nirzar Pangarkar in a blog entry. “Our goal is to demonstrate that safeguarding your online privacy can be straightforward.”
The DuckDuckGo AI Chat feature currently permits users to interact with four in-demand AI chatbots: Open AI’s GPT 3.5 Turbo, Anthropic’s Claude 3 Haiku, Meta Llama 3, and Mistral’s Mixtral 8x7B — the latter pair being open-source models. This optional AI Chat functionality is offered at no cost up to a predetermined daily usage limit and can be effortlessly disabled.
