Well, all you have to do is provide information that helps identify or locate members of the notorious Cl0p ransomware gang.
The US State Department is – understandably – rather eager to disrupt the activities of malicious hackers that are targeting US critical infrastructure. And it’s particularly interested in linking the hacking attacks to foreign governments.
In a tweet, the US State Department’s Rewards for Justice program dangles a $10 million carrot in the hope that it will tempt someone to come forward with information.
Obviously if you were someone with inside information about Cl0p, and similar organised cybercriminal gangs, you might well be worried about the possibility of some pretty nasty chaps not taking kindly to you sharing intelligence about them with the US authorities.
That’s why the US State Department suggests information should be shared via encrypted messaging systems – such as Signal, Telegram, WhatsApp, or its Tor-based tip line.

The Russia-linked Cl0p gang has most recently been linked to the exploitation of a vulnerability in Progress Software’s MOVEit tool, stealing data belonging to hundreds of companies worldwide.
