Variant of Mirai Botnet Utilizes Vulnerability in Four-Faith Router to Execute DDoS Assaults

An altered version of the Mirai botnet has been detected leveraging a recently revealed weakness affecting industrial routers made by Four-Faith since the start of November 2024 in order to carry out distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) offensives.

An altered version of the Mirai botnet has been detected leveraging a recently revealed weakness affecting industrial routers made by Four-Faith since the start of November 2024 in order to carry out distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) offensives.
There are about 15,000 IP addresses actively involved in the botnet on a daily basis, with the infections mainly spread out in China, Iran, Russia, Turkey, and the United States.
