Sophos UK Volunteers Enhance Outdoor Educational Area for Autistic Youth
At Prior’s Court, a team of 18 workers from Sophos generously devoted a day to serving as volunteers. They assisted at the Countryside Learning Centre (CLC), a rustic setting created to aid in the growth of autistic young individuals. The CLC provides these students with a distinctive chance to participate in outdoor activities, care for animals, and engage in therapeutic sessions, all aimed at boosting their abilities and wellness. The facility also offers open-air classrooms for those who struggle with conventional indoor learning, as well as a nature hike route.
The Sophos group spent the day basking in the sun while cooperating with coworkers they don’t typically engage with in the office. Their focus was on enhancing the accessibility and safety of the educational spaces for the students. This involved trimming overgrown vegetation, cutting the grass, and clearing walkways. They also took on the tasks of trimming and mowing the nature trail for safety, tending to the classroom garden, and managing unruly tree borders and stinging nettles that posed safety hazards. Their efforts have markedly enhanced the area, creating a safer and friendlier environment for all students at Prior’s Court.
