In 2024, cybercrime syndicates collected a total of $813.5 million through ransomware schemes, showing a decrease from the $1.25 billion from the previous year.
According to Chainalysis, a blockchain intelligence company, the total amount extorted in the first half of 2024 reached $459.8 million. They also noted that payment transactions dropped by approximately 3.94% after July 2024.
