Open AI, the organization responsible for the renowned AI conversationalist Chat GPT, has unveiled a new rating system for assessing the proximity of AI models to human-like intelligence, as reported by Bloomberg.
This scale comprises a total of five tiers. The higher the tier, the closer the AI model is deemed to be to human intelligence. Present-day large-scale language models are currently positioned at tier one, indicating rudimentary intelligence but lacking advanced problem-solving capabilities.
Tier two suggests that the system possesses a fundamental problem-solving capacity akin to that of a human holding a Ph.D. Tier three implies that the system can act as a user surrogate. Tier four suggests that the system can foster novel ideas. Finally, tier five marks the leap towards achieving artificial general intelligence (AGI), where an AI system can execute the functions of entire organizations.
