No way am I working in the office for five days a week!

Amazon’s CEO Andy Jassy shook things up recently by declaring that all corporate staff, including AWS employees, must be present at the office throughout the week starting in January. If I were part of Amazon, I’d walk away without a second thought.

It’s been ages since I last worked from an office, way before it became a trend. I had my reasons. Firstly, I informed my then-employer that I could easily fly into our New York City office on the same day if necessary, but I highly doubted that such a situation would ever arise. Turns out, I was spot on. Despite several business trips to Manhattan, my physical presence there was never essential. Secondly, working from my home office allowed me to be much more productive.

And you know what? My efficiency skyrocketed then, and it continues to do so today.
