The tech giant, Microsoft, revealed recently that it will be providing its Copilot creative AI (genAI) assistant in conjunction with certain Microsoft 365 plans in various regions.
Microsoft has stated that Copilot Pro will now come as a part of Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions in regions like Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. This move will grant users access to Copilot functionalities within popular applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Furthermore, Designer – the text-to-image tool by Microsoft – will also be part of the offering.
Additionally, Microsoft will be adjusting the subscription fees accordingly, with varying prices applicable in each region. However, the new subscription rates will still be lower than purchasing a standalone Copilot Pro subscription. For instance, customers in Australia can expect an increase of $4 AUD monthly for the M365 Family subscription and an additional $5 AUD for the M365 Personal subscription, as reported by The Verge. To provide context, a Copilot Pro subscription typically costs $33 AUD per user per month.
