The AI Helper, a robust natural language interface, will soon include retrieval-augmented-generation (RAG) features in its initial beta release. The full functionality and integration into admin portals are scheduled for early 2025.
The AI Helper merges an extensive knowledge repository enhanced by RAG and direct connection with Jamf’s product APIs. This implies that the AI can collect, evaluate, and display the most pertinent information — and can even perform tasks for administrators, like generating subgroups of users for specific policies. An interesting aspect of this approach is that when the AI executes a task, it provides detailed explanations for its actions in a side panel; this transparency is significant, particularly in contrast to the opaque decision-making process of some AI tools. Enterprise users, specifically, require an understanding of the rationale behind certain decisions.
“AI Helper will be capable of deciphering and contextualizing security alerts, offering insights into their severity and potential consequences, recommending next steps, and executing actions directly, while ensuring that a human remains informed and in charge,” stated Tschida. “Within moments, AI Helper delivers a thoughtful response, leveraging its extensive knowledge base.”
