I’m feeling the genAI melancholy
I long for generative AI (genAI) tools that are genuinely beneficial. Alas, they fall short. I constantly experiment with the software – ChatGPT, Meta AI, Gemini, and others. They may appear helpful at first glance to the uninformed.
I long for generative AI (genAI) tools that are genuinely beneficial. Alas, they fall short. I constantly experiment with the software – ChatGPT, Meta AI, Gemini, and others. They may appear helpful at first glance to the uninformed. Their responses seem credible. However, upon closer inspection, even if we disregard their fabrications – in other words, falsehoods – it becomes evident far too frequently that their responses are inaccurate.
If you’re working at a level similar to that of a high-school report, genAI responses are satisfactory. (Apologies, educators.) However, when delving deeply into a topic, which is where I specialize, the scenario changes.
I possess more knowledge than the typical large language model (LLM) regarding topics like Linux and open-source software. What genAI might convey about these subjects could appear accurate, but as you delve further into the specifics, the quality of the information diminishes.
