D-Wave introduces a new quantum strategy focused on AI/ML

Potential applications, according to Wong, “might center on developing quantum-safe cryptography, where conventional computing systems are unable to meet the necessary resources. As D-Wave leads in cutting-edge research, I am also in pursuit of those applications that can stimulate the acceptance of this distinctive platform.”

Heather West, quantum computing expert at IDC, remarked, “there has always been contemplation on how AI and quantum can cooperate effectively, but presently, it is more about AI influencing quantum.”

An essential aspect of the declaration, she noted, revolves around annealing quantum computing, as it has been purposefully devised to resolve optimization challenges. In order for quantum to “truly make a difference, a broader customer base is imperative.”
