According to Ishan Dutt, a principal analyst at Canalys, the utilization of Snapdragon X series chips in Copilot+ PCs had a successful initial quarter. Additionally, AMD introduced Ryzen AI 300 products to the market, while Intel officially unveiled its Lunar Lake series. However, both leading x86 chipset manufacturers are still awaiting support from Microsoft for Copilot+ PCs, which is anticipated to be available in November.
Dutt also mentioned that there is ongoing resistance towards the adoption of AI-equipped PCs among major end-user organizations and distribution partners.
“There remains reluctance, particularly towards premium options such as Copilot+ PCs, which Microsoft mandates to possess a minimum of 40 NPU TOPS, in addition to meeting other hardware requirements,” Dutt explained. “A survey conducted in November among channel partners indicated that 31% have no intentions to market Copilot+ PCs in 2025, with an additional 34% projecting that such devices will constitute less than 10% of their PC sales next year.”
