Cisco’s merger with Splunk is unveiling a novel comprehensive insight product, the Unified Insightfulness Experience, as declared by Cisco during the Cisco Live event on June 5. As part of the series of conference unveilings, Cisco also displayed the debut availability of a trial version of Motific, a generative AI platform developed in partnership with Mistral AI.
Unified Insightfulness Experience fosters seamless connections between AppDynamics and Splunk Platform
Cisco acquired data observability and security enterprise Splunk in March 2024. At that moment, Splunk’s Chair and CEO Chuck Robbins alongside Splunk’s Executive Vice President and General Manager Gary Steele, explained in a media statement that the objective was to “propel novel innovations through a unified data framework.” The Unified Insightfulness Experience, proclaimed on June 5, materializes this vision by establishing a comprehensive insight solution amalgamating both firms’ products. Key offerings of Unified Insightfulness Experience include:
- New unified sign-in credentials for paired operations between Cisco AppDynamics and Splunk.
- Context-aware hyperlinks enabling transitioning from Cisco AppDynamics to pertinent Splunk logs effortlessly.
- Total array, setting-agnostic associations across myriad applications, encompassing Cisco AppDynamics on Microsoft Azure.
- Additional novel linkages between Cisco and Splunk Platform.
The Unified Insightfulness Experience will be broadly accessible in the third quarter of 2024, wherever Cisco SaaS commodities are obtainable.

Cisco AppDynamics Acquires AI Instruments and Microsoft Azure Preference
Cisco and Splunk disclosed cutting-edge AI instruments for facilitating decision-making:
- An AI helper for Cisco AppDynamics, anticipated to be broadly available in Q3 2024.
- Support tools for adjusting thresholds, overseeing and enhancing settings and insights with AI alongside machine learning in Splunk IT Service Intelligence, readily accessible now.
Cisco AppDynamics will be provided as a software-as-a-service on Microsoft Azure commencing in the third quarter of this year, ensuring adherence to sector-specific regulatory mandates in fresh regions. For now, Cisco disclosed that, initially, AppDynamics will be extended to Canada.
Cisco’s developmental hub Outshift aligns with Mistral AI
Cisco’s incubation division, Outshift, proclaimed the availability of their generative AI deployment utility Motific for a trial before the general release of the final version by July 31. Motific aids both IT and business teams in provisioning generative AI assistants and apps. This sector is trending, with entities offering easier paths for businesses to embrace the innovative generative AI solutions.
Moreover, Outshift has partnered with Mistral AI to incorporate Mistral AI’s expansive language model as a preset feature in Motific.
“We are thrilled to launch this collaborative venture with Cisco, imbuing fresh opportunities for GenAI assistants through Motific,” stated Mistral AI’s CEO and co-founder Arthur Mensch in a media release. “We are eager to witness our models boost innovation and efficiency for Cisco’s clientele, all while ensuring compliance with their organizational principles of trust, security, and fiscal discipline.”
Moving forward, Cisco and Outshift aim to leverage Mistral AI products for forthcoming guardrail, intellect, and retrieval-amplified production capabilities in Motific. Outshift will delve into employing Mistral AI for constructing domain and assignment-specific models integrated within Outshift’s offered products and functionalities.
Mistral AI is among the beneficiaries of Cisco’s recently declared $1 billion global investment fund concentrating on AI.
