Indeed, HiSilicon, responsible for designing approximately 14 out of the 37 semiconductors in the Pura 70 Pro, is showcasing advancements that indicate the progress of China, as noted by Shimizu. The other device chips, including those for memory, sensors, power supply, display, and various functions, were procured from different Chinese and international manufacturers, with the majority – about 86 percent – being manufactured in China.

In October last year, the Biden administration implemented fresh export restrictions that prevent American companies from supplying cutting-edge semiconductors and the associated equipment to specific Chinese manufacturers without obtaining a special license.
