Reports from Sygnia, a renowned incident response organization, suggest that a prominent communications firm in Asia fell victim to a cyber intrusion orchestrated by state-backed hackers from China. These malicious actors maintained access to the company’s networks for a period exceeding four years, as per the recent findings.
Sygnia has dubbed this cyber threat operation as Weaver Ant, characterizing the perpetrators as adept at concealing their activities and displaying a high level of persistence. The specific identity of the affected telecom provider has not been disclosed.
