Asana introducing genAI ‘colleagues’ to its work coordination application

The Asana application currently features tools for streamlining processes, however, the incorporation of LLMs enables more robust automations. Nevertheless, owing to the unpredictability of LLMs, there exists a risk that these ‘colleagues’ may introduce inaccuracies into the work coordination workflow.

Costello emphasized the necessity of having a “human in control” whenever the AI assistant initiates actions. “We must ensure that people have the final say,” she expressed. “They carry the responsibility, they perform the tasks: AI is just providing assistance. AI should not be pushing work ahead without proper authorization from the team or the individual directing the tasks.”
