During an internal meeting, Amazon’s Chief Executive, Andy Jassy, addressed recent backlash from numerous staff members regarding the firm’s upcoming policy for a complete return to the office in January. This directive dictates that come the start of the new year, virtually all employees will be required to be present in the office for five days each week.
Jassy clarified that the objective is not to coerce resignations among employees or cater to demands from urban decision-makers, as claimed by disgruntled staff, according to a report by Reuters.
Furthermore, employees have expressed concerns that the return-to-work strategy is more rigid compared to arrangements at other major tech corporations, and that it will reduce work efficiency due to increased commuting times. Jassy had previously mentioned that his primary aim is to enhance operational efficiency and foster collaboration and innovation within the organization.
