Microsoft adds major upgrades to Power Apps at Ignite

Announced by Microsoft, the latest updates to Power Automate, the no-code automation tool of the platform, will feature advanced AI and governance functions. These enhancements, labeled Copilot for Power Automate cloud automation and robotic process automation (RPA), aim to empower users in creating more user-friendly, dependable, and efficient automations.

Expected to be available for preview in December, the new additions will introduce generative actions capable of understanding natural language and allowing cloud flows to generate AI-driven steps based on it. Moreover, a Copilot expression assistant, currently under preview, will assist developers in crafting expressions by describing their desired outcome and referring to the live data within the flow.

According to Davis, “Nearly all the integrated governance features have been consolidated within Managed Environments. As the feature set has expanded gradually, it was time for a redesign. The new methodology encompasses fresh functionalities while segregating the governance features that were previously part of Managed Environments into three categories: managed governance, managed operations, and managed security.”
