Ericsson’s return-to-office policy is causing trouble

According to Jessica Nygren, many employees are currently facing a dilemma. Some individuals have come from different locations where Ericsson previously operated but downsized or closed down. They were then offered positions in Kista but chose to remain in Örebro or Gävle. Now they are suddenly required to travel back and forth for five to six hours a day, three days a week.

Upon their arrival, they may find that the office is already at full capacity.

“If you have spent hours commuting, you expect to have a suitable workspace: We are expected to be present 60% of the time, but there are only enough seats for 50% of the staff, so you have to figure things out. Some areas have plenty of space available, while others do not. For instance, yesterday, two of my colleagues had to hold meetings in the restroom because there was no available space. Others simply go back to their cars,” she explains.
