Emergence of fresh job opportunities
A recent examination conducted by Duke University, alongside the Atlanta and Richmond Federal Reserve banks in June, disclosed that 32% of firms are aiming to integrate AI within the next year to execute tasks that were formerly carried out by humans. Moreover, in the initial half of 2024, nearly 60% of enterprises (particularly 84% of large enterprises) stated that they had implemented software, machinery, or technologies to automate tasks that were previously undertaken by their staff.
Despite some disquiet caused by the swift expansion of AI tools and platforms on certain job roles, novel positions like AI ethics experts and AI catalyst engineers are anticipated to surface as specific roles across global entities.
Additional insights from IDC recommend that professions calling for human-related social and emotional proficiencies, such as nursing, along with roles demanding moral-driven decision-making and a broader understanding beyond mere figures, will continue to be sturdy. Rick Villars, IDC’s group vice president for global research, remarked, “It’s only natural that we all wonder about the possibility of our jobs being substituted by AI.”
