Meta’s Llama designs are downloaded by 350 million users
The recent surge of 20 million downloads can be attributed to the launch of the company’s Llama 3.
The recent surge of 20 million downloads can be attributed to the launch of the company’s Llama 3.1 update, which introduced a model with 405 billion parameters along with variants containing 70 billion and 8 billion parameters — all of which outperformed in various performance tests like MATH and HumanEval.
According to Al-Dahle, “Usage of Hosted Llama has more than doubled across our primary cloud service providers from May to July 2024 following the release of Llama 3.1.” He also mentioned the increasing popularity of the largest LLM variant, the 405 billion parameter model.
In parallel, Meta has been actively working on expanding its network of partners involved in hosting or distributing the Llama range of designs. These partners include renowned names such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Databricks, Dell, Google Cloud, Groq, NVIDIA, IBM watsonx, Scale AI, and Snowflake among others.
