Gang of Criminals Physically Attacking Individuals for Their Digital Assets

This situation is incredibly disturbing:

…a cohort of individuals engaging in a brutal series of crimes to coerce victims into surrendering control of their cryptocurrency holdings. The announcement and the legal document outlining accusations against St. Felix mainly centered on a single incident involving the theft of cryptocurrency from an elderly couple in North Carolina. St. Felix and one of his partners unlawfully entered their residence, physically assaulted the elderly victims—both in their seventies—and coerced them to transfer over $150,000 in Bitcoin and Ether to the cybercriminals’ wallets.

In my opinion, digital assets are more vulnerable to such physical assaults as they exist predominantly beyond the traditional banking framework. Another rationale to steer clear from them.
