Additional challenges with Copilot+ Personal Computers
There are various other difficulties associated with these devices. Among the most puzzling is the apparent reduced capabilities of the Copilot application on Copilot+ PCs compared to its functionality on traditional PCs. On Copilot+ PCs, Copilot operates as a conventional Windows application rather than a sidebar panel, as is typically the case on traditional PCs. This allows users to freely adjust its size, reposition it on the screen, and execute actions with it similar to any other window.
This isn’t the sole issue. A significant problem is that Microsoft has eliminated certain Copilot features. While functioning as a sidebar panel, Copilot can aid in executing basic Windows tasks, like enabling or disabling dark mode. However, the Copilot application on Copilot+ PCs lacks this functionality. (Moreover, the Windows application for Copilot is now accessible on non-Copilot+ PCs, exhibiting the same issue as its Copilot+ PC counterpart.)
Another peculiar aspect is that despite the new Copilot+ PCs featuring a dedicated Copilot key, users are unable to initiate Copilot using the Windows key-C keyboard shortcut, as is feasible on other PCs. Quite perplexing indeed.
