When talking about AI, Apple is paving the way for smartness

Some of the AI features provided by all this code consist of tools for image sorting, spatial segmentation, text scrutiny, language translation, and more.

What, who, why?

They encompass a diverse array of functions, such as RapidPercept for image sorting, SpatialVision for monocular depth estimation, and DETR for semantic segmentation.

The designs are not designed for widespread commercial use and are targeted at creators, who have the ability to retrieve them, transform them into CoreML structure, and subsequently implement them in their individual code. The method for this was clarified at WWDC 2024 in a talk that elaborates on how the models can be launched once transformed. Moreover, it is noteworthy that CoreML is substantially quicker in iOS 18, as stated by Apple.
