ESET researchers disclosed this week their discoveries on five operations employing trojanized applications to aim at Android users in Egypt and Palestine. Commencing in 2022, these operations were ostensibly directed by the Arid Viper APT team, with three still in operation today. The multifaceted espionage software, named AridSpy by ESET, is disseminated via customized websites mimicking different messaging utilities, a job-seeking application, and an app for the Palestinian Civil Registry.
